Welcome to Brezno (Slovakia). Town is located 243 km (2 hours and 45 minutes) from airport and capital city Bratislava and 2 hours from Žilina (by bus). The town is reachable by train or bus. It has an interesting history with a unique shape of the square, lined by historical town houses. Not only visitors of this region catch the heart of the unique folklore traditions that people of Horehronie retains today.

When you visit Brezno (Slovakia) as part of the YOUMOBIL- project, please follow the mentioned steps:
﻿
1) Travel to Brezno using your Interrail ticket
2) Make yourself notes about your travelling to and from Brezno, especially about the infrastructure (trains, train stations,…)
3) Check out Brezno using the tipps below.
4) Take a photo with a Bombura statue with a bell tower in the background. (Upon the arrival at Brezno bus and train station, you can reach the Square - gen. M. R. Štefánika in 15-minute walk (1.5 km). At the square you can find a statue of a seated Bombura by the bell tower. In addition to the Bombura statue, you can also see some interesting buildings and churches with old architecture, fountains, statues and busts of famous Slovaks, Horehronské museum or a nice city park full of greenery.)
5) Take a photo at Kráľova hoľa. (Take the Horehronský Express (70 years old train) in Červená Skala, visit the unique bell museum in Šumiac or go hiking to Kráľová Hoľa - 24 km round trip)
